Today, we’ll be discussing this week’s theatrical release: Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Telugu action film, Eagle. This film has also been released in Hindi under the title Sahdev. I watched the Telugu version as many Hindi version shows in my city were canceled yesterday.

Let’s talk about the movie. If you remember my teaser or trailer review, I mentioned that visually, the film appeared quite stylish. However, at the trailer and teaser level, there was some doubt about whether the movie could connect the audience with its action, style, and characters. After watching the film, I can say that the same issues felt in the teaser and trailer persist in most parts of the movie.
But let me clarify: this isn’t a bad film. You can easily watch it once. Compared to Ravi Teja’s recent films, Eagle is much better. Especially, the last 30-40 minutes of the movie are quite good.
Stylish Presentation with Potential
Without comparing directors, I felt the presentation blended elements reminiscent of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s stylized approach with crazy and impressive mass ideas seen in Prashanth Neel’s films.
In the final 30-40 minutes, this blend becomes evident, making the ending enjoyable. Although the movie might fail to connect emotionally, the visuals and presentation keep you engaged. Just when the movie starts building interest, it ends.
Toward the conclusion, Ravi Teja’s character’s motives are revealed, which were intriguing. The director’s point of view was unique and interesting, creating a strong base for a potential sequel.
Major Issue: Weak First Half
The film’s first half is below average. Anupama’s character narrates different stories about Ravi Teja’s character to various people. Perhaps, the director wanted to create a mystery or extra interest around the character, but it fails, making the first half feel boring.
This weak foundation affects the movie later, as the action and elevation scenes don’t hit as hard as they should. From the start, Ravi Teja’s character is portrayed as an action hero, with everyone hyping him using heavy words.
Due to this over-hype from the beginning, the impact of further developments is lost. The buildup required for such films is missing, and the director faltered in this area.

Second Half and Conclusion
The second half is better than the first. Especially, the love story between Ravi Teja and Kavya adds some charm. Although some moments are unrealistic, they’re still fun and interesting to watch.
The last 30-40 minutes save the film, making it a one-time watch. While many films excel in the first half but falter in the second, here it’s the opposite.
Eagle Movie Performances and Technical Aspects
- Ravi Teja delivers a good performance, with noticeable improvement in his dialogue delivery.
- Some casting choices, like Madhu, felt misfit and failed to do justice to their characters.
- No actor, apart from Ravi Teja, stands out or makes a lasting impact.
Music: The songs are forgettable, but the background score is impressive.
Production Value: Visually, the film is solid, except for a few shots involving fighter planes.
Final Thoughts
Without high expectations, you can watch Eagle for its last 30-40 minutes, which are entertaining and engaging. Although just the ending isn’t enough to make it a great film, it’s still an above-average, one-time watch.
