So, guys, a movie starring Sonu Sood has been released called Fateh, which is Sonu Sood’s first directorial venture and even an A-rated movie. Yes, an A-rated brutal action movie. These kinds of A-rated, brutal action films have become very popular lately. Recently, movies like Bawal and Animal have also shaken things up, and now everyone is diving into brutal action. So, how is this movie? Let’s talk about it.

So, the movie is based on cyber fraud, where Sonu Sood plays the character Fateh, and a girl from his village goes missing because of this cyber fraud. So now, Fateh’s mission is to save the girl and wipe out the gang behind the cyber fraud.
I won’t spoil the rest, you’ll have to enjoy the rest in the movie. But let me tell you, the kind of character Sonu Sood has played in this movie, I wish we could see him in such roles more often. Before this, we’ve mostly seen him in villainous roles, but here, Sonu has raised the bar. People are coming to watch this movie because, one, he’s deeply connected to the cause, and two, this is an A-rated, brutal action movie.
And the first-day tickets are priced at just ₹99, except for the Cinepolis theaters. I watched it at Cinepolis, but why this disparity in pricing, Sonu sir? Never mind, the reason behind this is that Sonu Sood wants all the first-day collection to be donated to charity. There are very few people who think this way. Earlier, Sonu Sood helped during the pandemic, and now he’s again thinking about charity. What a great guy! Anyway, I don’t know how profitable this is for his film business, but he has definitely earned a place in people’s hearts.
As for the film, its USP is its action. But if films like Animal or Marko hadn’t released recently, this movie’s action would’ve seemed fresh. Although brutal scenes are shown, at some points, you might remember John Wick because it has that pen-kill moment. You’ll also recall Animal due to a similar corridor fight sequence and Marko because there’s a one-take action shot on the stairs. So, if you’ve already seen this brutal action content before, you won’t find anything new. But if you haven’t, then you’ll experience a whole new level of brutality in this movie.

The film is only two hours long, and it kicks off with brutal action scenes. Then, the story develops, and as the interval approaches, you might feel like, ‘Where is the action?’ because I felt that the story took a little too long to build up. But during the interval, a slate comes up that’s as intense as an explosive action scene. It says, “Brace yourself, you will need this break.” I thought to myself, “Now, the real fun begins.”
After the break, the story continues, and the action peaks during the climax. One more thing about the negative characters: there are two villains—Nasruddin Shah and Vijay Raj. Both of their characters were written quite weakly. Their performances were good, but their roles were quite underwhelming, so they didn’t stand out as strong villains. But the whole movie is carried by Sonu Sood’s performance, and for that, I must commend him. He nailed his role in action mode, and I hope we see him in more leading roles in the future.
Overall, I felt it’s a good attempt, and because of that, I’m giving the movie 3 out of 5 stars. It’s a good movie; you can watch it with your family as there’s no nudity. Just the action scenes are a bit brutal, so it’s better not to show it to kids.
See you in the next post. Bye!
