Captain America Part 4: Brave New World has been released in theaters. This is the 35th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

What to Watch Before This Movie?
Technically, before watching this, you should watch:
- The Incredible Hulk
- Captain America (1, 2, and 3)
- Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame
- The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (Web Series)
- Eternals
But if you are not jobless and don’t have that much time, you can directly watch this movie. 90-95% of it will make sense because it spoon-feeds the audience all the necessary information.
Marketing vs Reality
Before its release, the marketing hyped it up by saying, “We are going back to the good old golden days like Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” But in reality, this movie doesn’t even come close to that. Some sequences are engaging and enjoyable, but the film doesn’t fully commit to what it promised.
The story had potential, but somewhere between production, shooting, editing, and test screenings, it lost its way and became a generic, uninspiring, and shallow movie.
Plot Summary
At the end of Eternals, something emerged from the Earth—a new metal stronger than Vibranium. Now, countries like Japan, America, France, and India are in a race to control it.
Meanwhile, Thunderbolt Ross (who was seen in The Incredible Hulk, Civil War, and Endgame) has now become the President of the USA. There is a villain trying to create conflicts between America and Japan, and Sam Wilson (the new Captain America) is caught in the middle, trying to figure out why he was chosen for this role.
Red Hulk’s Role
The marketing heavily pushed Red Hulk, but if you’re watching it just for him, lower your expectations. He appears for barely 10-15 minutes.
The Good Parts
✅ The action sequences are well done.
✅ Small details add a nice touch, like Sam Wilson landing at supersonic speed, creating a shockwave.
✅ The Captain America vs. Red Hulk fight is really fun to watch.
✅ Red Hulk’s CGI is well done.
✅ Some moments feel like they were inspired by The Winter Soldier.
The Weak Points
❌ Captain America’s CGI looks like a video game character in some scenes.
❌ The movie’s mystery, investigation, and suspense fall flat because it never challenges the audience to think.
❌ The pacing drags. Unnecessary scenes slow it down, like showing a character entering a facility step by step, when it could’ve been cut short.
❌ The film went through multiple reshoots and delays, and it shows in how certain characters feel randomly inserted (e.g., Giancarlo Esposito’s role).
❌ The ending feels underwhelming, especially how they conclude Captain America vs. Red Hulk.
Final Verdict
If you’re just looking for time-pass entertainment, grab some popcorn and enjoy the action. The world politics angle adds some seriousness, and the Captain America vs. Red Hulk battle is a highlight.
However, if you were expecting a strong comeback or a film on par with The Winter Soldier, you might be disappointed.
Marvel’s 35th film is just another forgettable popcorn flick.
